Julie Nager: While this singer/songwriter is young, her soul is ageless. With an ethereal vocal style and a stream of original songs (Think Tori, Hear Sarah), Julie has been performing since her early teens. Whether at an intimate open mic night in a coffee house or performing for crowds at a street festival, Julie’s raw emotion and musical passion are apparent when she plays. She has recorded two CDs and is currently working on a third with her producer. |

Blair: This Black Queer writer/musician hails from New Jersey, is currently a Detroit citizen and has travelled the globe. As an author, Blair has written a one man show called “Burying the Evidence” and been published in Black Renaissance Noire (NYU Press). Self-aware and fully actualized, he says his father looked like Chuck Berry, played like Hank Williams, his mom “cleaned white folks’ houses” while raising five children on her own and he “inherited all sorts of ghosts from both of them.” With influences as far-flung as Joni Mitchell and Tricky, Blair is a true original – both on stage and on the page. |

Tatiana: Growing up in the 1980s, Tatiana rocked out to an earlier musical legacy – and joined a ‘70s cover band while still in high school to prove her love of soulful and southern rock. By 18, she was a veteran of the local music scene, leaving Detroit to tour the world as a singer and keyboard player. One of her proudest moments as a musician was sharing the stage with Gladys Knight. Tatiana is a certified Angel Therapy Practioner as well as a medium and author, publishing a monthly column in Mind Body Spirit Guide magazine. She is currently working on a new CD at Angel Earth Studios and performing locally. |

Eric Himan : A veteran Motor City Pride player, Eric Hinman was eight when his father bought him his first guitar. Beginning his musical career in high school, he carried his love of performing on to college and beyond, touring and recording all the while studying at Penn State. Releasing albums independently brought praise, press and national attention. Eric’s song “No Urgency” was featured on the HRC compilation Love Rocks alongside tunes by Melissa Etheridge and the B-52s, while “Thanks” was #1 for five weeks on Sirius Radio’s OutQ. After spending 2007 touring the United States, the singer/songwriter took a few months to assess his past and present so he could begin his latest CD, Resonate. With this release he hopes to tour more, reaching even more people by doing what his best friend suggested: “Make the CD that’s going to change your life.” With Resonate, he thinks he’s done just that. |

Alex Winston: Barely out of her teens, singer/guitarist/songwriter Alex Winston is a Metro Detroit native who’s performed with everyone from rock legend Chuck Berry to hometown favorites Electric Six. Although she finds it tough to categorize her music, she likes to say listeners while probably hear “something old, something new, something borrowed and something blues.” While influences from The Faces to Sheryl Crow, her music is sometimes rock and roll-influenced pop or maybe pop-influenced rock and roll, all depending on the song. Alex has had her music played on both One Tree Hill on the CW and on FX’s Dirt and recently appeared in “Motor City Cribs and Rides”, a weekly feature in Motown’s own Metro Times. |

Into the Groove: With the release of Hard Candy, Michigan’s own Madonna celebrates her 50th year on the planet not only by giving us another record, but by offering what she SAYS is her last tour. But, as all devoted fans know, our hometown girl seems to have forget Detroit when it comes to performing. Want to see Madge, hear the hits and get into the groove without having to leave southeastern Michigan? Into the Groove is the world’s most successful tribute to the Material Girl, complete with dancers, costume changes and a set list that starts in the ‘80s and continues through the present. From “Burning Up” to “4 Minutes,” Julie Nugent (a Michigan girl herself) and company offer classic songs, sexy choreography and audience participation that’s still completely family-friendly. Since pop’s reigning diva has declared she won’t be doing anything “old” on this farewell tour, Into the Groove offers a great chance to hear the music of your youth, your adulthood and your now all in the comforts of downtown Ferndale. This is performance not to be missed, so don’t miss it!

Joan Stevenson: As far back as she could remember, Joan Stevenson wanted to be on stage. Starting with modern dance classes at Wayne State University at age six, she was in musical programs, choir and band throughout her educational career. She’s appeared on TV as part of the “Super Singer Fireworks Contest” (which she WON!) and “Gimme the Mic” and on stage she’s both performed in and served as vocal director for productions as varied as To Kill a Mockingbird and Little Shop of Horrors. She can be seen at a variety of Gay venues around Metro Detroit, including Gigi’s, Stilettos and what Joan calls her “home sweet home,” the Rainbow Room. Her continued professional relationship with producer Marq Speck has resulted in a collaboration on a variety of commercial projects, including presentations for Ford Motor Company and the inclusion of a song in the independent film No Two Masters. Joan is currently performing with After Midnight and released her CD Stage & Screen in late 2007. |
